Phosphorescent Pigments
DAYGLO Night-Glo Phosphorescent pigments is a Zinc Sulfide compound that responds quickly to excitation by daylight, incandescent, fluorescent or ultraviolet lights. It exhibits high initial brightness and short afterglow. The afterglow effect is dependent on pigment concentration, surface area and amount of radiant energy absorbed.

Specialty Kaolin extender Pigments
Engelhard specialty kaolins improve performance, lower costs, increase efficiency, and enhance the value of customer products and processes in the plastics, rubber, ink, cosmetics, ceramics, adhesives, paints and many other industries. Major product lines include:
Satintone® calcined extenders and reinforcements increase performance and reduce costs in a wide range of products in the inks, paints, coatings, rubber and plastics industries. In fact, they are used universally in latex and solvent-borne paints because of their excellent balance of performance and cost efficiency.
ASP® hydrous aluminosilicates are used as extenders and additives in the coatings, inks, adhesives, plastics, rubber and paint industries and improve color development and holdout to prevent strikethrough and reduce costs.
Translink® aluminosilicates are high-performance reinforcing extenders designed to improve performance and strength in a wide range of polymer systems for plastics, rubber, coatings, and sealants.
Ultrex® Engelhard Ultrex® pigment extenders and reinforcers are engineered and structured to provide very high brightness for improved color. Ultrex pigments provide excellent tint strength and opacity, cleaner whites and colors and excellent titanium dioxide extension in both aqueous and solvent coatings.
MetaMax® Engelhard MetaMax® high reactivity metakaolin (HRM) is a white concrete additive that enhances the performance of cement-based products, including cement-based pool finishes, mortars, grouts, shotcrete and high-performance concrete exposed to severe conditions. Specifically, it is a highly reactive aluminosilicate pozzolan formed by calcining purified kaolinite at a specific temperature range.

Specialty attapulgite additives
Engelhard specialty attapulgite additives primarily are used as thickeners and sorbents in the manufacture of paints and coatings, industrial chemicals and consumer products (e.g., liquid detergents, soaps, polishes, ceramic grouts). Engelhard attapulgite additives are very fine, highly absorptive/adsorptive products.
Attagel® Engelhard Attagel specialty attapulgite products are excellent thixotropic thickening agents for water-borne and solvent systems in plastisols, paint, adhesives, sealants, foundry coatings and other liquid products. Thixotropy allows materials such as paint, adhesive, caulk and ink to spread easily when rolled, sprayed or brushed, and then stiffen at a controlled rate. And Attagel thickeners are perfect for these types of applications.
Attasorb® Engelhard Attasorb RVM (regular volatile matter) and Attasorb LVM (low volatile matter) agricultural additives are highly sorptive solid granular carriers of liquid and low melting active ingredients for use in a wide variety of agricultural applications. They are widely recognized and effective as pesticide carriers, spill control agents (i.e., floor absorbents), dry flow agents, animal litter and soil conditioners.

- Mitchanol & Transet
Mitchanol and Transet products are rosin-modified phenolic and maleic resins. The major application for these products is printing inks although some products find use in coatings. Within inks, products such as Transet GL68 and GL74, Mitchanol 30 and 44 (phenolic) and Mitchanol 57 (maleic) are used primarily in heatset web offset whereas those such as Mitchanol 31 or 44 and 53 or 54 are intended primarily for sheetfed applications.

Surkyd
To compliment those products intended for offset applications, a range of long oil alkyds, Surkyd, is available. Ranging in viscosity and oil type, both isophthalic and terephthalic acids are employed to optimise product performance. Other alkyds available include medium oil and modified types.

Surkovar
Surkovar products are tailor-made varnishes offering the end-user maximum performance, main area of application being in all forms of offset inks and also overprint varnishes. To complete our interest in offset ink applications, a number of viscosity modifiers and gellants are available.

Surkopak
Apart from those mentioned above, an extensive range of plasticising polyurethanes, Surkopak, is available. Intended for nitrocellulose systems, whether inks or coatings for flexible or rigid substrates, they range in hardness and plasticising effect, but that apart, their behaviour is similar. Viscosities vary from product to product as a result of the inherent structure of each. Some grades are available in 100% non-volatile content. Surkopak MR135 can be regarded as the general purpose type whereas Surkopak MR154 has the best solvent release. Surkopak 5322 offers excellent adhesion on difficult substrates.

Surkofilm
Continuing our interest in urethane chemistry, a range of film-forming types, Surkofilm, is available. Based on either polyether and polyester based polyols with both aromatic and aliphatic structures, the range is comprehensive permitting the manufacture of high quality inks for a variety of flexible substrates satisfying demanding performances. Surkofilm MR132 has excellent compatibility with nitrocellulose and is at high non-volatile content for this type of product resulting in cost-effectiveness for the user. Surkofilm 653H provides excellent adhesion to vinylic substrates in combination with vinyl copolymers. Surkofilm 71H, when used in conjunction with nitrocellulose, offers high bond strengths in laminates.

Fatty esters
Fatty esters are the result of the esterification of a fatty acid. They are mainly used as emulsifier, emollient or lubricant in applications including food, personal care, plastics, functional fluids, metal treatment, pharmaceuticals, paints, textiles.
Fatty esters subgroup
- Sorbitan Esters are used throughout the food, cosmetics and plastics industries. They offer a wide range of HLB value for maximum flexibility in selecting the best emulsifier combination for formulation needs. Available in technical grade.

Glycomul® S : is used as emulsifier for baked goods, icings & filing and whipped toppings. It is also used as rehydration aid ( production of active dry yeast) and as synthetic flavoring substances and adjuvants.
